Me, Myself, And I Brandon Luong-Tran

Flash Fiction Below
Over the years, I've changed from being this really emo kid to being a little less emo and more logical than irrational. These changes were for the better because if I didn’t change from how I was in middle school, then I would be a completely different person. My thought process is probably different from others in the sense that I go through four different voices in my head in sort of a cycle. So I would go from voice number one to voice number two then to voice number three than to voice number four. This thought process sounds really scary but I don’t mind it because it gives me a lot of options on a situation. My emotions can fluctuate from I’m a happy boy to being depressed really fast. My mood really depends on how the day goes for me so if it isn’t I’m usually perfectly but if something happened then my mood would be switched for a little.

Artist Statement Below
My drawing was done from a random I thought could work for the self portrait part of our project. I came up with the idea after I took a few pictures of myself for my self portrait. I decided to draw over a picture because I’ve done it before and it wasn’t something too hard to do. The artist statement and the picture are related because I wrote how I came up with the idea and why I drew it.

Reflection Below
My identity was formed by how I grew up and what friends I had grown up with. I was in my shell for awhile until I’ve met a lot of my close friends and how their personalities were very similar to mine in the sense that they were as weird as me if not more weirder than me. The more I grew the more I became more comfortable with everything. Some people can have more control than others, but personally I think it really depends on the environment you grew up in. The environment you had grew up in can really change a person’s trust and such. If you make bad choices you have a higher chance of being a not functional member of society. Choices can make and break a person depending on how bad the choice they made is and if the choice they made is relative small and not too impactful it shouldn’t make a different on your life. Our identities can be changed by relationships 100% of the time, because if you have a good relationship with someone you will make sure to keep them in you life because they have either influenced you or have impacted you in a good way. Physical Identity can change depending on how the person's Subjective Identity is. Internal Identity would be very similar to your self esteem and how you view your flaws and your positives of yourself.

  1. Hey Brandon guess who? It's Devon and your story is great. You're weird but that's what makes you so fun to be around. Don't change lol. I really liked your picture and I thought it looked very hard to do but you make it look easy.

  2. I can really relate to your flash fiction because I was a completely different person in middle school compared to who I am now too and I think I changed for the better. Also my moods change very quickly just like you mentioned yours do, but as time goes on it gets easier to control, at least for me. I also really liked your self portrait, it is creative and made it easy to tell who you were (your name isn't on the blog). The way you explained how identities are formed and changed by our environments and choices was very eye opening.

  3. I can definitely relate to the concept of deciding your response per the situation like you said with the multiple voices. I sort of did a similar thing in my flash fiction, with the multiple voices talking with each other and one having precedence over others. I really enjoyed your picture as well, it was quite clearly you and you did a very good job conveying that. But yeah, I'm glad you came out of that shell dude, it feels good doesn't it? Anyways, stay weird dawg.

  4. I can really relate to flash fiction because I was happy out going kid in middle school then stuff happened and I really started to see the world for what it is.

  5. I can relate to this because it took me some time to get out of my shell too. In middle school i didn't know a lot of people, but people came to me and we became friends. Everyone is unique in their own special way.

  6. I feel like me and many other people can relate to the quote, "My mood really depends on how the day goes for me". I know personally if I'm having a bad day, by the end of class I just want to leave.
