Life Choices

You are thinking about your life. You are thinking how things went in the past, how things are going now, and how they are going to tur out in the future. You think about the decisions that you are making now, and how they might affect your future. If you keep making the decisions you make now, you will have an unsuccessful future, and your friends will make fun of you, and you’ll still be that loser who still lives with his parents. If you start to make decisions that benefit you, you will begin to make money, have your own money, you can make your own decisions, and possibly live on your own. If you don’t want your future to be terrible, take action now. Get a job and start making money and get the things you want and need. Save for college, a car, anything you have always wanted.
My image is conveying a very serious tone.

My image is thinking about the future, the decisions I make and the consequences of my actions. I never knew how tough is was going to be to pick what I want to do with my future. To me, whatever you do with your future, be serious about it.

The journey I have taken the last 8 weeks is kind of confusing. My perspectives on certain things have not really changed at all, but others it has. In the Ted Talk "Overcoming Bias" by Verna Meyers has a little to do with perspective. Some the examples she makes is when African American men walk by and white women clench their purses. They think they are going to steal their purse and run off with it. The point Verna Meyers is trying to make is that you should never have a stereotype on someone unless you meet them first.  Choice is a decision that you can make either individually, or with people. Usually it is made by your self, and it’s usually about something serious. Decisions like college, bills, etc., it is usually major and you have to think about the advantages and disadvantages of those decisions. My own biases have changed, especially my biases on people. Whenever I see people, I say in my mind that they are a certain way based on the way they dress or talk. I was very wrong when I thought about it.

  1. your flash fiction was really motivational. most kids in highschool don't really think about their future until senior year and that can really put certain people at disadvantages. it's good to start thinking about the future as soon as possible.

  2. I really like your flash fiction it made me think about what I am doing now can really affect how well I do in the future. I liked how your picture and your flash fiction went together your picture is really serious and so is your flash fiction. My favorite line is "You'll still be that loser who still lives with his parents". I like it because it shows that if you don't start thinking about your future now you wont be able to support yourself and live with your parents.

  3. The flash fiction goes well with you picture and the serious tone in the picture and writing. Your choice of the 2nd person for the flash fiction was a good choice because it can be related to not just you but to anyone. I never think the actions I do now will have much effect on my future but it does. My biases have changed because of this class and the quizzes we took.

  4. I like how your picture and your FF convey a really thoughtful, calming mood. Something I wish I could find for myself a bit more often amidst all the stress from school and such. I really like how you took the reflection as chance to actually reflect on how your thinking has or hasn't changed from the start of the year up until now.

  8. I feel I can relate to how you say, "if you don't want you future to be terrible, take action now". I feel like many people don't realize that you need to put in work to get where you want to be.
