Perspectives unit 1 assessment
The image above is a railroad track with me walking down them. Its to symbolize me walking in to a new challenge everyday. Its me walking through my fears,my doubts, what people say about me from going forward and whatever tries to hold me back from life.
I picked the image because i feel that where i go there will be a challenge. A challenge that i can deal with or a challenge or that will crush me. For me and for other people, everyone has a new challenge everyday and their own tracks to walk. This set of tracks is the non ending road. The road that i walk till i pass as an old man someday, but this road i feel like it's the start of me walking till i find my paradise. When i find my paradise, i pass away and finally i am home and off the road.
He/she says: in this class of perspectives i have learned a lot about bias and others perspective of people. The one i had me thinking was perspective, why? because people have very different perspectives of certain things like people’s, designs, objects and etc. my perspective has been judging people on how they look and how they act, To be honest i didn't even realize i judged till Mrs. Becker and read that different perspectives packet. I have stopped because i don't know what people have been through so i don't mess with people because i don't want to end up hurting them or changing their perspective about me because i want a good perspective about me from others. They could have been a good friend and if i had a bad perspective about others and told them that then i would be making enemies and why make enemies when you can make friends. So having a good perspective of others is a great thing to have because it gets me a better understanding of others and a better perspective.
I say: When was in elementary i kind of grew up with violent child. Back then i lied, cheated, got in fights, and cursed a lot. Nobody liked me because all the bad things that i had done to people gave them a perspective about me and trust me there perspective of me wasn't good. Middle school i got a lot better and wasn’t as violent. When i hit my senior year i just became a new person because when i was younger i was horrible to people. When i was younger i had a perspective of other people in a bad way and i had made people my enemy. Now i had became less judgmental and my enemies in elementary are now my friends and i wouldn't want to break their friendship because no one deserves to be treated like garbage. This was my perspective of others.
They say: when we did the green sheets in class i got feed back for the people that read my story and people understood my message. People understood what i talked about and how in my childhood i was a completely different person then i was now some people knew i was because the people that went to my school would know. The others didn't know that i was that kind of person back then because now, i am a new person.

Hey bro, this is really good. This told me of a side of you I never knew existed. I'm glad to see that you saw in yourself at a young age that there was something that needed to change and you changed it. That takes a lot of really good something-or-others and i don't remember exactly what they're called, nor which one it is, but you got it my dude. Great job on this project.
ReplyDeletei really like how you connected this to when you were a child/ growing up. Also i liked how you proven you changed over time.
ReplyDeletePersonally, knowing you from elementary school, its awesome to see the changes you've made in your life through growing up. I love how you talk about these changes in your writing and its clear your happy with it too!
ReplyDeleteI knew you from my first year at Kennedy in Mr. Moran's class. I did recall for how in the beginning we were "rivals", but nothing drove us to be enemies. Then in Mrs. Arends' class, we became really good friends. I think it was because both of us over came the biases we had of one another. I thought it was cool that I was able to get an explanation in regards to it. Your interpretation of one's personality does grow as you get older- everyone is an example. Anyway, your they say/I say is super. I can't see your picture, though. I'm glad you gave us an explanation as to what it was or else I couldn't understand it. Also, I can't find your flash fiction either. Even with those out of the way, your reflection is superb and a really good read.
ReplyDeleteYou've come a long way and trying to see more good in people! I hope you grow and over come all the challenges life gives you.
