50's and Back
Flash Fiction:
Old School and new school together, is the best way to live.
Artist Statement:
The reason behind the old school and new school concept is
its who I am. I’m a new school person, I like the technology and the
advancements of stuff. I’m also an old school person because I like to look at
old things and see the history behind it. Also I like it because in my
childhood my dad took me to car shows. The artwork of my picture symbolizes
bright colors on the truck which back in the 50s, vehicles came in bright
colors. The importance of the statement is that you can mix and match things
that you wouldn’t think they go together until you try it. Both work together
because I’m a new school person in an old school car and that’s what my flash
fiction is about.
Reflection:
People
in our generation when talking about personality think about what others think
of them and how they connect with their interests. People think that because that’s
who they are to others. You could offer your services to other people and they
would say your nice and a helpful person. You could be an athlete and others
will say you’re a hard- working person. I agree with that because its what
others say about you.
Personality
is kind of like everybody interviewing you at once. People will judge how you
look but how you act in front of them is what matters. On Personality Myth podcast,
Delia was visiting Dan in prison, and Dan made a mistake that put him in there.
“As soon as she starts talking to Dan, she forgets about “the hatred” tattoo.”
(personality) Delia didn’t care what Dan looked like or about his tattoo, she
just wanted to talk to him, hear his story, she wanted to learn his
personality. Another texts’ take on personality by how you look. “First
impressions are highly influential, despite the well-worn admonition not to
judge a book by its cover.” (looks) This means that you can tell their
personality by looking at what they wear, and I don’t agree with that at all.
I
totally agree with the topic of personality and how you should get to know the
person before you judge them. I dealt with this in my own life and I was a
victim of it. I judged the person a lot before I got to know him, and now he’s
one of my friends. Whatever you do, don’t judge a book by its cover.
I liked your piece and I totally agree with don't judge a book by its cover. One thing you should do is put your name. Other than that it was an awesome piece and I can relate to the old school and new school. I have to help my dad with his old vehicles all the time cause he has a 94 ford 01 ford and a 90 chevy.
ReplyDeletei liked how you used the colors in your picture to symbolize the old school cars in your writing
ReplyDeleteI liked how you connected old school to new school and how you related back to your childhood. I think all your piece were very well thought out and written and it was overall really good. I especially liked the picture because that color on older cars looks so awesome.
ReplyDeleteI thought it was cool how even though you like the technology of these days you can still like old cars and be involved with that type of stuff. I thought it was interesting how you said you like it because your dad took you to car shows when you were little I think that helps with bringing emotion into the writing.
ReplyDeleteFor your flash fiction photo I love the vibrant color of the old car because vibrant color colors personally always make me think about old cars. Also the filter you used makes it look rusty going with the 50's aspect of your piece and the fact that you are actually in the car looking happy makes it more personal
ReplyDeleteI enjoy the theme of combining the old with the new. The reason I like this idea is that my favorite genre of music, and probably the only music I listen to, is 70's and 80's rock. Even though this genre is becoming more popular I like to see the older classics of music and other categories pop into the spotlight.
ReplyDeleteI liked how your flash fiction is straight to the point. Your portrait conveys everything your flash fiction is trying it say. You did a great job pairing the right picture with your flash fiction. I also am a car guy and I agree with your message that old school cars with new school technology is the way to go. Overall this is a great read.
ReplyDeleteI like the editing on your portrait and your F100 is pretty cool. It shows that you focus more on cars than yourself. Your artist statement really explains the portrait well and I could really relate to it.
